Jami is a Licensed Professional Counselor and has a Master of Arts in Counseling with an emphasis in spiritual formation from MidAmerica Nazarene University. Jami works with children, adolescents, adults, and families. Her passions include working with anxiety, body image, eating disorders, parenting and family relations, and questions about identity, faith, and worthiness.
She worked as a Registered Dietitian for 10 years, which ignited her passion to work with eating disorders, body image, and one’s relationship with food. She is trained in Play Therapy, as she loves to use hands-on activities such as art and Sandtray Therapy to help individuals express their inner-self, especially when words are hard to find.
Jami studied under Dr. Brené Brown and her team to become a Certified The Daring Way™ Facilitator- Candidate. She integrates Dr. Brown’s studies of vulnerability, courage, shame and worthiness into her work. Jami conducts workshops to help individuals Show Up, Be Seen, and Live Brave™. Visit www.braveconnection.com for additional information.
She believes change comes from the experience of awareness and acceptance at each given moment. The healing process takes courage and grace. It is an honor to walk alongside each unique individual as you learn to show up, own your story, explore your false beliefs, and live confidant and connected.
To feed her soul, Jami enjoys having dance parties with her kids, cooking adventurous recipes with her husband, and relaxing outdoors in the hammock.
