A Higher Level of Care in Kansas City
Inspiring & Restoring wholeness to those
with unhealthy eating habits….
one soul at a time.
Renew Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) is an eating disorder program designed to provide excellent treatment for an individual based on the latest research in the field.
The treatment program is three days a week Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:15-8:45pm allowing clients to continue school/work activities during the day. It can provide effective treatment when individual counseling is not enough. It can also be utilized as a step down from a higher level of care.
Renew provides treatment modalities of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Expressive Therapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy Skills Groups. These therapy techniques are implemented in dinner meal, goal setting, process, psychoeducation, body image, family, and art therapy groups.
To participate in the IOP, clients must be medically stable and have an outpatient treatment team. We require a physical exam and a medical history from a physician for each client before entering the program. If there is no outpatient team, Renew will help to create one either through Renew’s outpatient team or referral to other providers in the community. Client will see their individual therapist weekly during non-program hours.
Treatment plans are coordinated with the client’s outpatient treatment team on a weekly basis.
Renew offers supervised meal experiences as a group (patients bring their own meal which must meet certain nutritional requirements).
Parent/family group therapy is available every Tuesday evening.
The program is provided in a beautiful, cottage style home in Olathe, Kansas. Services are offered in a peaceful safe environment. It is close to highway access and offers a retreat feel.
